2009 Par Car Bypass Interlock
Hi, I want to use an external charger on my Par Car. I will be adding a receptacle. It will not have an interlock. Does anyone know if by passing would be as simple as connecting the green and red wire or using a switch to connect them? I am thinking of using the cable from the existing charger and attaching it to the new receptacle.

Re: 2009 Par Car Bypass Interlock
Maybe this was a stupid question but I decided to go ahead and try bypassing the interlock. According to the Delta Q manual the interlock occurs inside the charger and is a switch that breaks the positive side when the charger is plugged in. Therefor I found where the green wire from the charger attached to a 1 Amp fuse, then I concluded that it is routed to the key ignition switch. I disconnected the green wire and connected the wire off of the 1 amp fuse to the positive battery terminal.
Long story short, in answer to my question appears to be. Yes it's that simple. So, far anyway. |
