Where's the model number?
Hi all, new to the forum, and new to golf carts for that matter. I was given a Columbia electric golf cart this week. My plan is to restore it, and give it to a local youth camp. However, I can't seem to find the model number anywhere. From what I read, it's on the frame somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it. In addition to the model number, I'm going to be needing some parts. This thing has a few wires melted on it, as well as the controller is damaged. I don't know if a wire got some insullation rubbed off somewhere or what. I do know that I can't turn the key to the left or right, so the switch has gotten real hot. I've looked for the controller too, and can't seem to find the exact model number for sale anywhere: Curtis 1204-xx6, 375 amp, 24/36 volt. I uploaded a few pics if someone could identify the year from these. I restored a New Idea electric lawnmower a few years ago, so this 36 volt stuff isn't too complicated, although the lawnmower was resistor, instead of controller. Any help would be greatly appreciated. So boiled down, I need to know the year, where to find this controller, or a suitable replacement, and an electrical diagram would be nice, as well as a schematic of the f/r switch (I'd like to make my own).

Re: Where's the model number?
Welcome! I'm sure someone will be here soon to help. While you are waiting, try doing a search for "Columbia or Par Car serial number location". I found: Usually on the frame crossmember near the driverside tire.

Re: Where's the model number?
Harley Davidson and Columbia ParCar have had several different styles of Vehicle Identification Numbers over the years. To make things less complicated, each style of VIN has been broken down into specific time frames.
If you can locate the VIN, match it as best as possible from the examples below. Year and Model Look Ups 1963 to 1969 68 DE XXXX; 66 DC XXXX 1970 to 1995 8D XXXXX H7; 6K XXXXX C3 1996 to 2004 2ACD XXXXX E2; 6J XXXXX; 3E XXXXX D9 Hope this helps |

Re: Where's the model number?
Check the kick panel at the passenger side left foot for a VIN sticker. Also located under the steering wheel cover.

Re: Where's the model number?
Thanks!, but it's not there either. It's right under my nose somewhere.
