they usually use sevcon controllers. You could get a Curtis one cheaper and probably tuned for the vehicle through globalepower or nivel

In 91 nobody used controllers, it's a different system than Sevcon or Curtis. Used individual solenoids and speed switch assemblies. The speed switch assembly for this unit is part # 71494-89A, list price of $360.86, and one at the factory parts department. You would have to order through you local dealer.

Well I have found a way around buying an expensive switch! After all it is just a switch. As soon as I get it done I will post a video.

I know this is old and its probably a dead end , but i was hoping to find out the way around buying this expensive switch since this is the only part i need.. but cant find one for a decent price.. if anything i would love to see a diagram of whats inside the control module to see how it works..
