New roof and top ideas
I am looking to replace my roof and top in the future and need some ideas. I am replacing it for two reasons. First it is to tall to fit in the garage when on the trailer and second I recently rolled it on its side and bent the original a bit. I want a canvas top but still want to cover the front and rear passengers. Thinking about staying with steel and the original mounting areas to keep it simple and keep the cost down.
Show me some photos if you have something similiar. |

Re: New roof and top ideas
3/4 electrical conduit, does not cost much and easy to work with. you can get a bender @ lowes or home depot for around 20 bucks. good luck

Re: New roof and top ideas
3/4 EMT is easy enough to bend......Just remember, it won't protect you when try driving on the side again......
Maybe you could find one size that fits into another and have the larger at the base with upper piece sliding into the lower.....with removeable pins you could lower the roof? |

Maybe a paralelagram set on each side to fold down like biminy tops on pontoons.

Re: New roof and top ideas
Just spent 10 minutes trying to find a picture even went to the boat yard but they are all covered. What I'm talking about is two tubes in each corner about 6 inches apart hinged at the top and bottom that let the top lean over and down in the level position, the top can be ridged (SP?) I"m looking forward to this thread because I need a top and all the support points have been chopped off my cart when the body was changed. I think a carson style top would be real cool with a flame paint job.

Re: New roof and top ideas
well the photos of the limo cart show a conduit roof frame that appears to be welded. I understand that when using it for its intended purpose connectors are used. Is the roof frame on the limo cart soddered or something?
