Default Got the Herculiner to Start Canopy & Dash----Thoughts/Suggestions??

Any application tips?

Roll thin & light coats etc?

Wasn't planning on priming just scouring the canopy/roof.

Not sure about the best way to apply to the dash just yet. I was thinking scour/scuff and just kinda dab it on with a brush. As I doubt its really "rollable".

Scuff it up really well. And make sure you wipe it very clean (don't remember what I used). It turned out amazing on my last cart in my sig. I painted some smooth metal pieces on my last rzr as well, and it would start to flake off after a while from getting nicked up from riding and hitting it with the pressure washer when cleaning.

Never had an issue out of my last cart. Stuff worked real well. It is very rough to the touch though. But I loved it on the body of my last cart.

Will sunlight play an important part in application? Been Hot n humid lately.

Trying to figure out whether to break out the tailgate tent to apply the herculiner under outside. But the canopy is about 11 1/2 ft long tent is about 9 or 10 ft. If I go with natural shade then I have to worry about leaves and dust getting all over it while its drying.

Not really enough room in the garage right now but I was worried about how long it needs to dry and don't want to leave it out side.

Is it fast curing?Tacky? How long etc?

Also my canopy has 1" channel aluminum all the way around riveted to the plastic. Deciding whether to paint that metallic silver to accent the cart or to include that with the black effect of the herculiner.

Really want to get it done by the end of this weekend.

I just followed the directions that came with the can. Cleaned it with diluted degreaser, then scuffed/scoured it and then used a fine grit sanding black...wiped it down. Then wiped it with acetone rage. Then applied.

Heres a few pics. So far I only have done the underside of the canopy and one of the cupholders.

I think I am actually satisfied how it turned out so far.

Only suggestion is to get/order extra rollers. Even in the Ziploc bag and waiting 3 hours to apply 2nd coats killed the first roller so I had to use the second one. So I ordered a couple extra afterwards and can't really do more until I get them delivered.

fyi I was able to just use the roller on the whole canopy and I used a brush to dab the cupholder and rolled on top portion....looks kinda sparkly from the camera flash.

Here are a few after the 2nd coat. Canopy top, overhead stereo holder, and cup holder.

Definitely think I am doing the entire dash. Like how it came out.

The top...there are a few lap marks. Instructions say to do a 3rd coat if necessary within 24 hours...but not after that time point.

Has anyone done 3 coats and avoided additional lap marks?

It said to put it on heavy, which I did, but u gotta move fast as it gets tacky. I don't know if there is anyway around the lap marks unless you have a 40 inch roller hahaha
