Default hydrographics

Anyone ever tried hydrographics? I bought some new wheels and tires and thought I would try this on the wheels. Probably the hardest thing to start with being that the wheels are 5/2 offset (very deep dish). They turned out pretty decent. Can't wait to get more film and dip other cart stuff.

Where did you get it and how do you do it yourself? Looks good! I did look up instructions and it looks pretty easy.... How durable is it?

Jim, you're right I did the cup holders first. They suggest practicing on smaller stuff before diving into it. I bought the kit off of E-Bay. I used the white base coat that came with the kit. I think the cup holders look more like snow camo, so for the wheels I used tan rustoleum. I like the tan much better. Once I get more film I'm going to re-dip the cup holders and a few other things on the cart. It is pretty simple to do although my offset wheels where tough. I re-dipped them a couple of times trying to get the centers to come out better. Overall I'm happy with the way they came out. Durability? We will just have to wait and see. I did clear coat with a flat matte finish. I think they will be way more durable than regular spray paint. Like anything... practice makes perfect!

Looks really nice, pretty soon the cart will be invisible! You have camo everything.

Just FYI, if you go to Brownells they sell "clear baking lacquer" It is used on guns to protect the finish. In 2000 I did a set of aluminum wheels for my hot rod and it stood up REALLY well! I just got new wheels this past year, and the only ones look as good as when I first did them. As I recall you have to bake them in the oven at 320 for 20 minutes. Make sure you are happy before you bake them, the recommended method for removal after baking is sand blasting!

sho305, That's the goal...Camo everything. I bought the cart with the body already dipped. First time I took it out hunting I was walking back to my cart and it still really stuck out like a sore thumb. Now I think it will blend in. The 48v is way better for being quiet while hunting and no smell from the exhaust helps alot I still need to reduce all the squeeks and rattles! It sure is a lot of fun getting your cart just the way you want it
