Default Noid Needs Help

Ok Now I did it, Ha Ha needs to be striped. I need some advice about strippers from any one but Gorno because we know where that would lead. What have you guys used on Yamahas? The plastic, I think is RIM. Seems very soft. Used a heat gun to take some decals off and the primer underneath pulled some of the body with.

This an extreme situation that calls for extreme tactics....I've got to think Gorno would say to ' use the brunette on this one, she's tougher than she looks'

It might be better to find another used body and go from there? Not the answer you were looking for, but I think it would be the easiest

I not looking to end up with a show cart I use HA HA as a tool box, work bench, wheelbarrow and other nasty jobs. Just want to strip it down to do a rattle can paint job and don't want to melt the body. I would have left it alone except the paint was peeling in spots.

Gorno says "Sand the MF and be done with it!"

Yes I know, I was hoping for a stripper. The last time I used a da sander the job was DA.

Any chemical that strips paint will eat that plastic body too.

I would just feather sand the edges of all those places real good, then get some automotive quality glazing compound and fill it back in. Then wet sand it down, spray on a coat of primer.... have a martini while it dries...wet sand it down again.... another coat of primer... and another martini or two....wet sand it down again...another coat of primer...uhhhh... a couple more martini's.... then throw a bucket of blue paint on it and call it a night!!
