Radio install
Well,I'm about to install a radio on my '02 gas TXT . I have mounted one before but it was with an overhead kit. I want to put this in the dash. Is there anything I need to be aware of or any helpful hints before I get started? I plan on putting the 4'' speakers under the cup holders and the 6x9's behind me on the acess panel .

Thanx. Oh, and they are not 4'' , they are 6.5 " under the cup holders.

Re: Radio install
I know the top of the cup holder will come off , what's the best tool to pry it off. Mine doesn't want to come off easily and I don't want to mark it all up with scratches. Also did you have to take the front cowl off for the install?

Re: Radio install
When I did mine they (the people on this forum) told me that the cup holder does NOT come apart? I did not take it apart nor did I take the front cowl off. Parts of it was a pain but it can be done without taking either apart. Good luck

Re: Radio install
My cup holders come apart fairly easy. I have a 2000 ez electric. You just need a wide screwdriver on the very back of the holder. There are 3 tabs on the back and if you put the screwdriver in that back channel and twist a little while pulling up on the cupholder you should be able to get it apart. Don't reef on it or you will scratch it all up.
