TXT Limo project under way
I found a rough 2006 EZGO TXT on Craigslist a few months back, and I have finally gotten around to doing something with it. I forgot to take before pictures but I will be photo documenting everything from here on out. I completely disassembled it and got it ready to do the stretch first. I used some guidance from other post on here and adapted them to get my desired result.

Re: TXT Limo project under way
I chopped it in half using a method I saw on the TV show TRUCKS where they turned a long bed into a short. They cut the frame like this to give more weld area for better strength.

Then I cut two pieces of 1"x2" tubing that matched the frame with the same L shape.

Re: TXT Limo project under way
I built a 14" jig to keep it lined up with the frame and welded it in place. This part is not to be hurried. I measured over and over again to make sure I was keeping the frame straight. Overall I stretched it 36". I had to cut the two stretch pieces 40" because of the 4" L cut.

Re: TXT Limo project under way
I am now adding cross members and bracing to sturdy it up. Also , I used 1"x2" tubing for the rockers.

Nice! I have a 2000 txt and want to do a stretch. Do you have a source for floor mat and sill plates/rocker panels? Also want to go with 36" stretch.

Nice job on the stretch. I like the idea you used to get more weld area for more strength in the weld area.

Re: TXT Limo project under way
I am going to buy sheet metal and make a floor plate and diamond plate and make rocker panels. I believe a factory limo is 28" longer so I am pretty sure none of the factory limo parts will work on a 36" stretch.

Re: TXT Limo project under way
I disassembled the diff and cleaned it up and installed limited slip. I checked the seals and bearings while I had it out, and I started installing the Jakes long travel lift.
