Raptor liner black tint another color?

I've been looking into doing the body on my G1 with the tintable raptor liner. I really wanted to do the body in tan. I DO NOT want black for a variety of reasons. Well my father has the kit in black he's not going to use and said I can have and since money's a little tight right now that would sure help. I was wondering if maybe I could use white paint and mix it to make a greyish color. At that point I could probably even add some tan and end up with a brownish color which would work for me.

I've read plenty about using the tintable version but never heard of anyone trying what I'm talking about.
