Default Diamond plate floor on TXT

I have a 2005 TXT and want to put in a diamond plate floor. Stock, the cart has the rubber mat over a riveted down metal floor. My question is for someone that has a diamond plate floor installed NOW... Does the new floor install over the factory metal floor or do you remove the factory metal floor under the rubber mat altogether and simply use the diamond plate? I don't want to guess or speculate on the right install, and want to order everything I need the first time.

I have the diamond plate floor. Goes right on top of the stock floor after removing the rubber mat first. I screwed mine down. You can also rivet it if you wish.

I found them slick when wet and slippery with dry sand

If you find the diamond plate slippery when wet, you could use either the rubberized bed liner from Line X or Raptor from U-Pol.

I ride barefoot most of the time, seems like it would get hot in the summer time.
