Default How to make a custom top for EZGO RXV

I am working on an EZGO project cart and would like to customize a top that looks more interesting than the stock roof with metal poles. Haven’t found any off the shelf tops nor have I found any one off custom tops. Has anyone fabricated anything? Fiberglass? Modify the roof from a really small car and mount to the cart? Suggestions?

Keep it light so the roof supports don't fail or add bracing.

Google "bimini top" And think about the fact that they are aluminum tubes that can be cut to any length. They have all kinds of brackets for tube to tube, tube to surface and even have adjustable locking tubes.

Sounds like a fabricators dream to me. Just have to have seamstress once the smoke clears on the tubing layout. And you even have a convertible.

I don't have any pictures, but I saw a buggy at a local (lake Travis) marina with a "Bimini" style top... attached at the top of the windshield, with aluminum tubing, fittings and fabric from a boat top.

It looked really sharp, just had a moment to speak with the owner, he said it was "fabbed up in an afternoon".. total cost less than $ 75.00.

Definitely something to ponder .......
