2004 TXT Limo Build
I'm building a limo cart and have stretched it 8'. Will be finishing the frame and brace work tonight and I have a Vegas Cart 625 cc motor to put in. While i'm getting close to to hookup motor, i started searching for extra long FnR cables with no luck.
I've found shuttle cables at 66", but need longer. Anyone have any ideas of who can cut ends off and extend cables? Looking for exxtra long accelerator cables too. Thanks in advance, Posting a couple of pics of progress so far. |

Re: 2004 TXT Limo Build
As i am in the UK, i cannot help you with cables, but when i did a stretch, i just made a solid extension for the brake bar and moved the standard cables back with the compensator and made a support hoop for it.

Re: 2004 TXT Limo Build
Thanks Cartmaster for responding, I did that for the accelerator and brake, but was more trying to solve the long F&R cable. I have since found a solution to the problem, finally.
Thanks again for taking the time to help! A few pics of the start up last night and the solid rods you spoke of. ~jcinco101 couldn't figure out how to upload movie. |

Thanks Epb, I can’t wait to complete stereo install to install cowl and finish top. I’ll post completion photos this weekend.

Re: 2004 TXT Limo Build
I’m interested to see how it runs. I wonder how much weight you added to make it stiff. I have always wanted to do this. I can’t wait to see the final product and maybe a video. Great work. Epb

Quote:
Approx. 2.25 lbs per foot. I added approx. 80’ of tubing, so I added approx. 180 lbs. of structural metal. Both pods have approx. 40 lbs of structural angle combined. 100 lbs on floor, so 320 lbs of metal. I had 7 adults on maiden voyage and it turned better than anticipated with no banana bending. I’ll try and figure out how to post video. Thanks |
