Windshield Stiffener?
Anyone run some kind of horizontal brace behind their windshield to stiffen it? Interested in ideas. Mine bows in a bit from wind speed, and shakes a lot on rough ground. Not hot-rodding around or off-roading so I'm not expecting a lot.

Re: Windshield Stiffener?
Someone, I can't remember who because it's been over a year now, ran a piece of 1x1" angled aluminum across both front struts where the windshield folds. They said it helpedout a lot.

Re: Windshield Stiffener?
Got my 4' length of 1" x 0.125" aluminum angle at Lowes, and some flat head screws. Then left the angle in the cart in the parking lot. Had grand plans.

Done. Ran a strip of the soft side (the "vel") of Velcro on he angle to pad the windshield.

Re: Windshield Stiffener?
We cut the front tab off and screwed thru the tabs, but I like the way you did it better. Either way, better than a bouncy windshield!

Re: Windshield Stiffener?
I found that stiffening the bottom solved the problem and kept the bar out of my line of sight. I used square aluminum tubing across between the uprights with hardware corner braces screwed to both pieces. Then added weatherstripping foam tape to keep the windshield and cross brace tight together. Works well and the brace provided a sturdy mounting point for an acrylic dash tray.
