Need help designing my purchase a build
I live at the coast and want a cart to take my wife and 2 small kids to our marina and back. Plus drive around the neighborhood. Our longest trip will be 3.1 miles there (6.2 miles round trip) and mostly flat (here is the google maps elevation profile:
Elevation.jpeg There will likely be some beach gear (chairs, cooler, etc.). Again, all on-road except the marina has some rutted gravel paths to get to it and hills but not long hills. I dont need to go super fast, just want to get there in a timely but most importantly, safe manner. I have settled on a CC Precedent but need help on what years to look out for. I love tinkering so I will be doing all the work by myself. Eventually I will likely get an Alltrax controller so I can play with it and get more speed. Probably not a new motor unless I just decide I need faster. Here are the items I need help with: - What year should I look out for? - I keep being told the motors will really last as long as I have it, is this true? - For what I am doing is the long travel really that much better than the A-Arm lifts? - I will likely be going with simple black rims. Aluminum for rust. Any suggested brands? All I ever see is "SS" brand. - I really like the look of this cart, could someone please help me figure out what size tires/rims these are? Also lift height maybe? CC.jpeg |

Can't help you with all of those questions, but those tires look like either 22" or 23" tall. Very likely 14" diameter rims.

Look up our sponsor "GOLF CART TIRE SUPPLY." I think they have about any wheel you can imagine.

Re: Need help designing my purchase a build
i dont think there is a bad precedent year just battery configuration 4-12v 6-8v a lot of people like the 8volt..You dont need a long travel for what you want to do.. and the bigger the tire the bigger the lift if you have a back seat put HD springs in or you will be grinding plastic to make them not rub and they will rub.. you have two small kids you dont want a big lift, Keep it safe for them[i have a ten inch lift with 25s] its a long fall i know, and like moon said check out the sponsers, just my 2 cents

Re: Need help designing my purchase a build
Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking 6" and 23" tires is plenty.
