That would be a good project for you Clay. You need to get some more good use out of that bender and welder. Have you given any more thought for a full one piece or rear cage on that Rhino? I am probably going to get one by first of the year and a rear seat kit. The place that you get your pipe from, do they sell aluminum (like what my top is made out of on my Rhino)?

This is where I buy most of my steel. Thier prices are kinda high but they are only 5 miles away so I don't have to pay shipping or spend too much time on the road. http://www.metalsdepot.com/
Yea, I got a few ideas for the rear cage. I want to see some more rear bumpers and how they are mounted to the frame. This will be the main tie-in for the cage extension. Should not be too big of a deal to do, but I am worried about adding the extra weight to the rear. Some of the trails that we currently hit are pretty steep! I figure with the kids and all I will be adding around 400 lbs to the bed. I think I need to just add a bunch of weight to the bed and see how it does, cause if it doesn't feel safe then there is no sence in doing it in the first place. Ann is already on board for a #2 Rhino so we can all go out together. Thats what I'm thinkin!

I've thought the same thing about the weight. I also looked at maybe getting a full cage made of aluminum (much lighter). The added rear weight really worries me. I don't take chances anymore. Nothing is worth having an accident. We have also talked about a second Rhino. Mine has a rear bumper if you need or want pic's, just let me know or you are more than welcome to inspect it Sept 29th at Coal Creek.

Yea, I plan on checking it out then! All of the places we ride were cut by 4-wheelers, so we are pushing the limits on size anyway. There are several places that we have already been that put you in an up-hill, off-camber situation. I think these would be the most dangerous with the extra weight. If you are in the middle of climbing a hill and you realize you have to turn slightly to avoid some obstacle and you don't have enough front tire grip to make the turn then you are really screwed. Not a position I want to find with my kids on board. If I happen to roll it by myself it will be no biggie, but I just aint ready to risk that. I think the full cages work great out west where you are riding the dunes all day with no trees and rocks but around here where you have to stay on a set trail you can really get yourself in trouble quick. Justy my $0.02.

I agree and don't take chances anymore. It's just not worth it.
