Built a brush guard
Today I built a brush guard for my lawnmower out of some scrap metal. LOL no more backing up to go around those darn trees, now I can plow right through them!!

Re: Built a brush guard
Looks like you could just rip them up with your bare hands. |

Re: Built a brush guard
AWESOME! Now get us some videos as soon as you start ramming things. Didn't you blow out a valve in the transmission of your lawnmower a while back?

Re: Built a brush guard
Thanks guys!! Its gonna see a lot of use!
NONO, it sure did pulling a tree stump out. I swapped the hydro trans with a geared one and then changed the pullies to speed it up. Now it cuts my 3.5 acre yard in 30 minutes! |

Re: Built a brush guard
What horsepower is it? What brand of engine is it?
30 minutes!?! You need to screw with the engine governor now and cut that down to 15. |

Re: Built a brush guard
Its a 23hp Kohler V-twin. I'm very impressed with the engine. There are 500 hours on it and it still runs like new. If it was a briggs I would order a high rev kit for it from Tom at CPP.
Do you know of anything I can do to pep it up? |

Re: Built a brush guard
My mower has a 16hp Kohler on it. I tried messing with the governor, but it's very strong and very picky. I couldn't hold it with my finger or a screwdriver at a higher RPM for much over half a second.
