What did you use in the middle.. looks like a tin box? Did you fabricate that? Styrofoam lined?

Thanks!

I lined the top and bottom with Styrofoam. Then lined the bottom with .035" thick stainless steel sheet stock. I used a rubber mesh to cover the exposed Styrofoam. Works very well, ice will last a long time.

Ok rubber mesh like from a tool box liner? I love this thing.. can't wait to get working on it.. does the styrofoam get wet? or does is the stainless steel sealed?

I was thinking of putting a mold in the middle and then using a spray in foam.. just not sure if it will be hard enough.

The rubber mesh is shelf mat material for campers. Kind of sticky so dishes and things won't slide when moving. I bought a couple of those cheap styrofoam coolers and cut them up for the material. The stainless is sealed using clear silicon. I also used the silicon to hold the styrofoam and mesh in place. The styrofoam is imperious to water so it won't get wet but a little water still gets between the tool box and the stainless but it will drain right out and dry no problem. Post up some pics of your project.

Before
After

I just finished this one.. i think it might be a little big, and i still have to figure out how to mount it.

I found a little diamond plated tool box at harbor freight i think i'll try your undercover ice chest with.
