1:1 Template Printouts
Do you guys ever draw and print out 1:1 scale paper templates for making brackets? Is there a simple drawing program for this? Paint doesn't come with an inch scale so thats out. This would be a tremendous fab help and time saver for me if there is a program.

Re: 1:1 Template Printouts
Yep autocad would do it. Which one do you have Scotty? Maybe you'd draw me up some templates and send them my way?

Re: 1:1 Template Printouts
Well I was hoping for a simpler program. I dont need anything to extravagant. Suppose I could draw it the old fashion way on drafting paper but thats not as fun when we have computers and gadgets.

Re: 1:1 Template Printouts
I have an older version I got from a company I worked for. Autocad LT2000... I'm not that good at it though.... Pretty tough program to self teach but, still fun. I drew up my engine cradle and stuff with it....

Cool that would be fun to learn and very handy to know! I wish Christmas hadn't passed already or autocad program would be on my list.

Re: 1:1 Template Printouts
Oh I will try its the first day of the new year, if I start being good now maybe it will be enough time to rack up points with santa by next Christmas.
I want to start messing around with a program but dont have anything in particular to draw up right now. Most the things I have in mind are very simple. It would be nice to use a template for marking holes or laying out anlge cuts for various tabs and brackets. I probably could just keep laying them out by hand with a sharpie but this would be so much better. |
