Default motor bike engine build differential

You guy's have so many idea's, here is my option list. #1-live staight axle, can be affordable, but if you try to turn...way out of control/skidding! #2-an older Taylor-Dunn Ford 8" , but then either a jack shaft assy or a 90 degree gear box (some Volvo outdrives have the gear box with reverse, that's cool!) #3- Bike "trike" rear end assy's.. very very cool, but very expensive. Have any better suggestions? Thanks Dave

Yes I do. Send me the engine and I will put it to use.

J/K The only thing about any of these is the lack of reverse, except volvo. Then what about replacement parts if needed? $$$. I am still trying to find something on that for you.

You always want free parts Not this time "Big Guy"! Any further idea's would be welcome. I'm leaning toward the "trike bike" dif, it is the right length, chain drive, killer disc brakes ect. Some times you just have to open the wallet! 1500.00 plus shipping. There goes the "big" wedding plans

Thanks for the link Nice talking to you today. Couldn't find "Victors add". Really like this one. I've pretty much gave up on the "live axle" set up. Thanks Dave

That's not rue Dave I did buy everthing you sent me. But you can't blame me for trying. I did say Just Kidding.

Dang I like that rear axle. Sure is costly. Does it provide reverse? Or are you really worried about haveing reverse. This build sounds almost like a crotch rocket on 4 wheels. Go far in forward and never mind backing up. AHHHH heck go for it. You always build some neat stuf.

You didn't find me the diff I wanted yet? Man, your "slacking" Talked to Richie today (that guy is the best, like you), gave me some other leads. I "WILL" not start building till I have the diff. Yes I would like reverse, but it may not happen. Decided,no straight axle. My minds eye see's a diff that will work with a chain, handle the power and not be a "posi". I'm keeping myself up at night pondering this. I see other units going for 3k to 5k. I just can't imagine what you'd come up with for this engine build? I'm a buyer and installer, not a one off builder, please understand that, I just want the best I can get for the money that fits my build. 1500.00 for the right (and cool) diff is in the budget. Thank you my freind for you wisdom.

Now you are starting to sound like me. I do understand, but I still like to razz you once in a while. Ok chain drive to the rear. This may make a little more noise than a belt. Also if the chain gets wet, rust sets in and links bind up sometimes. If you lube the heck out of, sling action occur. Not trying to discourage you, just things that I learned when I used to have two wheels between my legs all the time. Chain is a deffinute pull where a belt will slip if wet or not adjusted correctly, and sometimes that correct adjustment is as fine as a hair on a frogs butt. If I were building what you are planning I would go chain. They are a lot easier to get most anywhere and can be cut to length which means a lot less engineering or guess at what length to build between the engine and the rear end. Just my $.02 worth. But deffinutly go for it, This build I really want to see. Later my friend.

Well I see where you said a solid axle was out but I found what I was telling you about.

I might be a little out of my league here Dave but, when you started talking about this I thought of these guys.
If this has already been considered, sorry!
