Re: picture request: Stereo
I mounted a $89.00 Walmart special in a waterproof marine housing and mounted it under the drink holders.. Mounted a pair of marine box speakers under each end of the dash.. It's no audiophile grade system but it's sufficient for the news/talk stations I'm always listening to..

Got a $30. NIB, AM/FM tape in the dash and a set of $9.99 Waterproof Boat Speakers off e-bay, mounted under the dash. Not the best system by far, but I don't need to worry about weather or whatever.

Re: picture request: Stereo
I had to go over kill with my set up.
Getting ready to pull it all apart and clean it up a bit. Also preparing for a better amp to make these Polk components scream. |

Re: picture request: Stereo
Great thread, I just bought my radio this weekend and plan to install this week. I am planning something alot like CC Johns. The box I bought was white, so first off I had to buy some plastic paint and paint it black. I plan to make a box and mount my speakers under the seat back.

Re: picture request: Stereo
Will have to get some pics of ours. We have the overhead console on ours. The unit is a clarion unit with am/fm, cd, and aux input for the i-pod. Speakers are memphis audio and came from an automotive audio center who also does a lot of boats, they recommended the unit and memphis audio since they use that in a lot of boats and the boat owners have no complaints about their systems. We also have two speaker boxes that go in the bed that is on the back of the cart. The speaker boxes are standard boxes for a car and have 6x9 speakers in them. We wired the speakers for the rear so they can be taken out if it's raining or extremely muddy. The next addition that a friend is making for us is a tonneau cover for the utility bed so we can leave the speakers inieven if it is raining or muddy. Our friend made tonneau covers for some friends who have Yamaha Rhinos and they work well for keeping the insides of the Rhino's beds dry.

Re: picture request: Stereo
This is what I did. Stereo in a marine enclosure in driver's side cubby hole. Sony 6 1/2 below the cubby holes on driver and passenger side. I fabricated some irrigation drains to mount these. I built a custom box for two JVC component speakers that are behind and in between the front and back seats. And not pictured, an 8" powered subwoofer that I got @ Walmart,on the clearance rack for $25, under the back seat. It will thump. Maybe overkill but I like it. Only thing is, none of it ,except the radio, is water resistant. Have to make sure not going to rain. I have covered all the speakers with plastic, just in case it does rain while I am out. Not really a big deal. I would love to get one of those Bazooka tubes for the subwoofer under the back seat. For now, the Walmart special does just fine.
