Default Is this an original idea?

Has anyone considered grafting the engine and tracks from a snowmobile onto a golf cart.

I saw a snowmobile engine on ebay and the clutch setup reminded me of a gas cart's. So I thought , hmmmmmm..... rear tracks sure do get some awesome traction, and a wrecked snowmobile with front end damage could be cut just forward of the engine and grafted, engine, suspension, final drive and all onto a cart frame.

sounds cool, but a guy could always get a set of those atv tracks they have out, then put skis up front like a snowmobile would have. least for the winter it would be cool!!

The only way you could do that is if you have snow to lubricate the track, other wise you will go threw sliders like crazy!!! another thing to know is that the track would stick out like 121 inches at least, another think you might want to consider is that the widest track are only about 16inches wide, there are a few that are wider like a skandic, but that motor is just like our golf carts when it come to power. so you would have to go with two tracks. If you could build it, it would be a machine and nothing could come close to stopping it, but there would be major fab work involved. Just letting ya know what i know about sleds, but i think all the work that one would go through it would be more worth it to put these on the rear and skis up front

here is a short clip only 9 seconds but there would be no way a atv with tires could clumb that that easily
