Water transfer Printing

Hi there guys, just thought I'd introduce myself....just joined forum today. Myself and couple of friends are looking to get into WTP here in the UK. There are already some companies doing it over here, but none in our part of the country. My background is in heating and plumbing, and one of my friends already re-furbishes alloy wheels (repaints/straightens them etc.) so he is used to the spraying side of things. We have researched the process and watched numerous videos and have a fair idea of what's involved.
Having read through the the posts on here there seem to be a few of you guys who seem to know a fair bit about this process and we would like to pick your brains and ask your advice about one or two things.
Like most newbies to this process the main stumbling blocks are the setting up costs....and sourcing the film, activator etc. so we are looking into getting a local welder to fabricate our own tank. From the vids that we've watched we know that you have the main tank and a smaller area at one end where you have the filter and pump. What we haven't got info on is the exact set-up regarding the detailing of the filter area, size of pump/motor. Also what sort of heater is used to heat the water and is the heater (as I suspect) expensive to run - any costings regarding running costs would be appreciated.
We know that if you are dipping metal you need to use a metal primer. What would you do if for example you had a metal radiator that was already painted ? Would you have to strip the radiator back to bare metal or could you just rub the existing paintwork down and then start the priming/undercoat process. That being the case what type of primer would you's guys suggest in a case like this.

I am not sure how it works shipping to the UK but in the US their are two main suppliers of the film,activator,and other supplies for water transfer printing. I use TWN and Liquid Print for all of my dipping supplies that I use in my dipping business. As for building your own tank the main problem with this is both of the above mentioned suppliers will not sell film or supplies to you unless you have purchased a tank and been trianed by one of them their are other places that sell some film but to be able to purchase some of the more popular camo patterns you will need to go with a reputable dealer.
