Digital Voltage Gauge Install...
I ordered up the Datel Digital Voltage Gauge from Scottyb's Carts Unlimited. It arrived quickly and in excellent shape. The following guide is certainly not the ONLY way to do this, but it is the way I did the job with the facilities that were available to me.
My existing key panel was replaced with a fresh blank OEM unit: I went down to my pal Jeff's machine shop in the city and took accurate measurements: Sketched out a plan: Plotted it out: First I drilled a few pilot holes: Next, I used a 1/2" chassis punch to remove larger chunks of material: Clamped it in a vise and used a square shouldered file to remove the corners, keeping everything nice and square: The test fit looked fine: I used the shipping box for a spray booth. I was painting up north at the campsite. It was cold and damp that day so I warmed up the oven in the coach kitchen for a drying booth: Twenty minutes later it was dry and ready for assembly: Finished product! Verified the readings with my multimeters (2), and it's spot on. This should be a great addition to the cart. Knowing the actual real-time pack voltage allows for better pack management. Thanx Scottyb and Carts Unlimited for doing the research and finding us a great product! |

Re: Digital Voltage Gauge Install...
NICE ~ Looking Good G! It is nice that the meter samples the pack 3 times a second for accurate real time readings but best of all is draw between the simple 2 wire hookup with reverse polarity protection and the waterproof feature in case you like to hose out the cart or God forbid ..... spill a drink on it

Thanx, guys. I like the look much better than the bar graph, and like I said, it's better info.
