Email me with the particulars about your cart. Give me info on tire size and accessories like cargo box or rear seat and what type of terrain and footing you will be using it on.... and I will put a kit together to fit your needs.

Thumbs up Re: Ezgo Marathon Resistor to Controller conversion kit

Got the kit and I installed it easily with no purchase of any special tools and without any experience other than general mechanical knowledge. The kit was complete, the instructions were concise, and this EZgo marathon owner has moved up to the 21st century! Thanks Scottyb!

Mr Gunsmoke, loved that show when I was a kid.
Thank you for your positive feed back and the tip on improving the directions.... The directions are never perfect until the customers test them

Happy carting

Potentially yes. You will need excellent batteries and upgraded drive components. Loose footings such as sand or mud require extra HP to navigate. You may be looking at more than a basic conversion. The basic conversion gets you into the 21st century where all the component upgrades are possible. You may need a new torque motor but I would start with the 48v upgrade and see if your stock motor can't do the trick for you with the voltage increase.

Just a post to clarify that a 48v upgrade would involve a conversion to solid state speed control for safety & reliability.

Scottyb, I think I just hit s homerun. I just posted many questions in the lifted cart forum but this sounds like the answer. Now I just need to see if my batteries are bad and if my motor is upgraded. May leave it be for the time being either way. 89 marathon 36v resistor. Lifted with 20" tires. Will have flip flop seats. Will use around neighborhood and on a 500 acre farm. Want availability to upgrade to a 48v system in the future. Also, I'd like to make some mods to be able to have aux batteries for a stereo and lights.

What should I buy? I need new wires too!

Right now the best buy is on the C52 package. This is a 500 amp alltrax programmable controller & 200/800 amp HD solenoid in your choice of 36 or 48v, & a modified potentiometer.$595
Or the C54 package (500 alltrax, 400/1000 amp Superduty solenoid, & the modified potentiometer) for the versatility of running on either 3 or 48v with needing to buy anything else. $649
