Default ladder bars on the rear

has anyone ever used ladder bars on the rear of their cart? i am thinking about ditching the leafs and running ladder bars and coil over shocks. the reason im thinking of using ladder bars is because it will help stop axle roll. what im not sure of yet is using all bushings or bushings at the rear end and heim joints at the frame.

im thinking of getting a set of these to weld to the axle.

Yea, when I saw this thread mentioning ladder bars, I wondered if these carts had enough power to twist the rear diff & really need ladder bars. But a 3/4 link setup came to mind... kind of looks similar but aren't they used for a different reason? Maybe GB had some really high hp setup & needed all the power to the ground.
What ya got up your sleeve, Blake?

i know ladder bars are normally used in drag racing due to axle wrap. i have a vtwin in my cart, i dont it really needs ladder bars. but 4-link would be a little difficult to do since there isnt much room under there. i know scottyb did a similar setup on his workhorse using two forward bars and a pan hard bar (i think he did). ive been thinking about doing a 4-link up front and ladder bars in the rear. now i know that some 4X4 off road lift kits come with a ladder bar for the rear that gets used with leafs. i not really looking for alot of articulation out of the rear cause with the vtwin there is not a lot of room for movement. i just want to get rid of those crapy ridding leafs.

Gotcha, so your just looking for a better ride, not really trying to get rid of axle wrap.

I think the 3 link like Scottys, and some good quality coilovers or bags, is probably the way to go. I have leafs & coilovers in the back of mine now & the thing rides too stiff. The 3 link would probably ride a lot better, but I don't think their recommended when you have a back seat. And I'm trying to wrap up building a back seat this week. Hoping the additional weight in the rear will soften the ride up a little.

well, i think when they say not to use with a rear seat, i think that applys more to the rear seat kits which weight 150lb's by itself. i know when i built my cage with the rear seat on it, my whole cage weighs around 60lbs. normally i only have young kids on the back of the cart. plus when there is kids back there i take it pretty easy. of course i know it can cause the rear to sag when they are on there also.

True....

So I made my rear seat out of two pieces of 10' x 1.75" x 1/8" angle (maybe 20 lbs) & two pieces of 1/8" plate (maybe 50 lbs). It's super sturdy and I'm hoping my two 75 lb Border Collies will be able to ride on it, not to mention a couple of my 200 - 250 lb buddies. Maybe thats the kind of load their talking about when they mention not using a 3/4 link on a rear seat equipped cart?

Oh, and I'll take it easy too. ;)

If you get the combination of suspension that gives a good ride and will handle the weight of 2 adults on a back seat I want to hear about it.I can't find it I'm too stiff or rubbing the tires,no in between, cart isn't lifted has 3 leaf HD leafs, with shock extentions, was thinking pulling a leaf??Dave
