Default Headlight Ideas

So I have been looking for headlights I like and want to go LED as I run a separate 12v battery to power all the electronics. My thought was to just modify some aftermarket automotive headlights. Cheapies from Ebay. What are your thoughts on this route? I am looking at the Beetle headlights.

If you can fit them in the cowl, go for it! I love to see custom stuff!

Cool idea and less power draw with the LED's!

What are you looking at on Ebay? Those are $150ish, I wouldn't say cheapies Maybe that's just me. I was looking at something like that previously but not at $150.

Personally I think the Beetle lights are to big anyway. They'll overpower the front end.

Yeah I am going to keep looking. I want something different. I may have to fab something up completely myself. When the cost of a light kit is 99.00 for some crap I figure 150 for something a little more unique is kinda worth it. The light kit that comes with one of the painted custom bodies is 150 and again they are halogen. I used my all LED setup this past weekend and barely used 1 volt of my 12 volt Marine Battery I have installed.

Cool Re: Headlight Ideas

Finding a set of LED head lights cheap is going to be hard enough much less custom ones.

May want to checkout some motor cycle stuff.

Get a couple 6" offroad lights from harbor freight convert them over to HID's and you're in business. All for about a hundred bucks plus you can pick the temperature of the bulbs to get different hues of light.
