Default My G9 Painted With Krylon Fusion

Hello Everyone,

To start off with I love this site nad have learned alot here. I am not a painter nor a mechanic but I am learning as I go along. Anyway I have an old beat up G9 that I use at a campground in PA and I was tired of looking at the green color of it. I painted it this weekend and installed an economy lift kit. For the paint I used duplicolor plastic primer and Krylon Fusion. On the underside I went over the frame with glossy black rustoleum. I also taped off a section of the front and painted a black stripe just to jazz it up a bit. I did 2coats of primer and 3 coats of paint. It's no way near perfect but I am happy with it. I reupholstered the seats with white marine vinyl and put on some round dune buggy style headlights. It was a fun weekend project. Here are some pictures of the before and after. All I need now is some new tires. Notice how thrilled my daughter is. (LOL)

Hope this can help someone who is afraid of starting a project like this. I know I was but in the end I am glad I went ahead with it.

Thanks for the nice comments.

I went over the cart with a scotch brite and alcohol. The duplicolor primer went on well and dries very fast.

Hello Pocket,

I installed one of those cheapo $100 ones I found on E-bay. Actually it was on sale from a place called rocky top for $85 bucks and free shipping. Funny enough when I opened the box, it was from a place called buggies unlimited. I figured for a few bucks I would give it a try. I only use the cart at a camp ground and it is holding up well. The installation was very easy. I just had to drill a few holes for the front mounting brackets.

Hope this helps.

Mike

Nice work.

How many cans of primer and krylon fusion did you use to do the entire job?
