Homemade Puller
I know there are alot of ingenous people out there solving the problems they incure removing this and that. I was warned that if you pull and hammer the CC steering wheels off, one day you will pull the shaft out of the box.
Here is a quick little puller I made. What have you got? Post it here >>> On the stubborn ones, I use PB Blaster (or similar rust desolver) 12 to 24 hrs. prior and load the puller up as shown and smack the bolt head with a hammer. The wheel pops off! |

Re: Homemade Puller
I was waiting to see if anyone else thought your puller was cool, even if it may not work for some it gets you thinking. Almost anyone can make somekind of modifications to your prototyp(China) and WA-LA ! My son years ago broke a key off in the ignition of my only car and I had to pull the wheel to get to the switch, then I had to drive it to the auto parts store with a pair of lock pliers to get the ( I cant remeber what) that I broke getting the wheel off. I put my feet up on the dash, my knees under the wheel, backed off the nut a little and hit it (a lot) with a hammer. When I knod my head you hit it!

Re: Homemade Puller
yeah the pull and smack method may cause serious pain! My buddie went to ER trying to get a wheel off his 1940's wheel horse:) Good thing he had the Natty Ice in his blood!!!

Re: Homemade Puller
When I installed my speaker pods, I cradled the wheel on my forearms, leaned over it and pushed against the floor on with my feet. But, I'm a big boy though...
