Default nerf bar attachment

a buddy gave me an idea of getting 1.5" exhaust pipe bent to use as a nerf bar... mainly for looks.... but I'm trying to figure out to attach them. I dont want to weld them. I have black diamond plate which I guess is aluminun and have fender flares really close as well.... any ideas?? I thought about getting some sort of barcket welded onto the pipe than use a large self tapping screw into the rocker panel

I would bolt them, the self-tappers will vibrate loose and fall out, they don't like to support weight hanging like that. Also use the largest washers you can(fender-washers work great)behind the body,it will spread the pressure to prevent cracking/tearing.Hope this helps.

Do a Google search for "EZGo Txt nerf bars" & check out what is already out there. There are bolt ons available for under $200 / pr. Pretty sure you could do it the way you described for less money. Although I think you'd have to do a bit of welding on the ends.

That said, these are sweet. Gotta be a site sponsor who carries them.

Yea, I hear ya there.

Something like this would be a cool weekend project. The exhaust tubing wouldn't be too expensive. And the welding would be pretty easy. Then paint'em up & bolt'em on.
