Re: Where to buy adhesion promoter
I bought mine at Advance. It's by Duplicolor. I want to say about $8.00 a can, aeresol style. It was in the aisle with the paints, thinners, and body finishing supplies.

Re: Where to buy adhesion promoter
I have few other questions,
I got a used plastic body that is in way better condition than my original fiber glass body, I see it was sanded down past the original paint ect... And it shows like lil plastic hairs sticking up so I sanded it down but I still see them after I promoted/primed the body can I put another layer of primer on or should I just do extra coats of paint ??? Another question when I get ready to bomb spray my cart should I use the plastic promoter also on top of the primer ?? |

The promoter is used to help the primer/paint stick to the plastic or fiberglass body. You wont need to use it other than the initial coat(s). I would prime again then sand with a finer grit paper. Im no painter so maybe someone else who is will come along and help us both.

I'm thinking you need to use scuff pads not sand paper.

Re: Where to buy adhesion promoter
So the adhesion promoter is only needed to cover the plastic, once you prime you are done with it. If you still have the little hairs you will need to bury it with the primer. Once you prime it it should make the fuzzys a little harder and easier to sand so you might have to sand it with say 400 then pound on more high build primer. The body must be smooth before you apply the color.
