Default radio install and speaker location ?'s

First of all this is my first post, so im not going to go into all the details here, but ill make another of how i got to where i am with my current cart. but i have a 93 ezgo gasser and im going to use factory location for cd player.

couple questions.
should i run a splash cover (marine radio faceplate cover?) it is not stored outside to much, usualy in a barn where its out of the elemets but there will be times morning dew could get to it if i leave it outside overnight.

and where in the heck can i moutn speakers on this cart? i was thinking of on the wall where the gear controller is, but i dont think there is room for it there.
was thinking of making speaker boxes and mounting on front where feet are, just affraid they would be too big.

and last question, would regular cd player be ok, or should i do marine grade, im not going for super high end sound by any means just something to listen to tunes with.

any and all input i appreciate guys. ty!

mine is the camo one on the right, and yes i painted that.

Welcome aboard Chris and there are a ton of opinions on this board about locations of speakers and radios. If you will do a search for radio and speaker install you should get quite a few threads that cover this question. i myself have scrolled through many many of them.

And by the way the cart look very nice the camo pattern looks good.

I drive a gas ez go so I won't be much help LOL. But I am gonna run a regular radio (cheapo) and mount my speakers under my cup holders. There are several in my neck of the woods that run the same set-up but I would advise to use the marine radio cover, every lil bit helps. I have seen speakers mounted all kinds of places but it will boil down to what ya like.

I store my cart in a closed shop much like you but it does stay outside from time to time and like you say the moisture from the dew may cause some trouble.

Alot of guys are also going to the marine mp3 amplifier which is a pretty neat deal and amazon seems to have a pretty good selection and I'm sure ebay would as well. I wasn't trying to blow you off with the suggestion of searching the board, just trying to help.

what size speakers mounted under the cup holder, i seen that and kinda like the concept of it, was worried they wouldnt be large enough, or loud enough to hear while driving, as mine is also a gas powered cart.

Chris
Welcome to the fun!

I do not have a sound system yet but Have been lurking about with the ones that do. I removed a set of speakers from a boat install and they are the ones with the brackets. not flush mount.

I too have a hunting cart and do not want the floorboard or dash mount so I was thinking i would mount them on the motor plate under the back rest. This would make for out of the way install like I am looking for. What do you think?
By the way great CAMO!!

ty and thats where i thought about putting them at first, but there is no room on my cart in that location, which i think its a restriction with my year and lack of room inside the motor bay for the speakers there.
