Custom Homemade Passenger Cart
Hello everyone! Just thought I'd share some pictures of a little project I've been working on in my free time. It's a custom made trailer cart. I first got the idea when I was at the Syracuse Nationals Car Show a few years ago and saw a golf cart towing a picnic table with wheels (yes, a PICNIC TABLE ON WHEELS!) I wanted something to tow instead of purchasing a whole new shuttle cart only for when we wanted to transport more than 4 people from one side of the fairgrounds to the other and through the camping area. Then surprisingly another member had the same idea I had and posted one for sale and it looked AWESOME! So, here are some pictures. If any one else has a similar idea and would like some insight on the build, feel free to ask any questions. I would be more than willing to build a few more in my free time for members as I enjoyed this project, but I am by NO MEANS MASS PRODUCING THESE!

Got the bodies painted and was testing out the ride. I wanted to put a rear seat on the matching cart to the trailer but, the foot rest/hitch wouldn't support the weight of the cart, plus people.

Re: Custom Homemade Passenger Cart
This was pretty much the homestretch of the build. Put a red pinstripe around it, wired up the tail lights and then installed them! I used a 4-pin trailer wiring harness to hook it up to the cart itself. I did that so that you could tow this trailer (short distances) behind a pick up truck or SUV and have fully functioning tail lights, turn signals and brake lights. I only installed parking lights on the cart but a brake light/turn signal kit could be added simply with it being functional to the trailer cart as well.

Looks nice! That's one of my future projects too.

It should fit under the foot rest and you could weld it to the foot rest for added support. -Scott H. |
