Default New Hydrolic brakes ????

I started putting the new brakes on the cart Saturday at 3am. As of now I still have no brakes. I want this to be a learning thread. I love how easy the system went together, but the system isn't working to well yet.
So here is where I stand with it. I started out with a problem with the calipor not fitting on to the rotor after mounting the brake flange. It lack a 1/8" are more. So I added to washers on the back side of the brackets and everything lined up fine.

This picture does seem to be off center.

Hey Andy what year is your EZGO ? , I ordered a set from sunoco as well
Mine have not arrived yet , I have a 2008 TXT fleet cart
Sunoco thought it should all line up with no problems , I can't see that putting washers will work in the long run ? I hope he and you can solve this issue

I'm doing a 48V conversion on a TXT as well. I'll post pics of my progress on my brake install that I will start tomorrow.

Wink Re: New Hydrolic brakes ????

This cart is gas. 94.5- 95 medalist I don't know if the brake flange is further away are what. Sunoco and I have been talking and will figure it out. It's just going to take some time to do it on my schedule.
My plan is to take them off and see if they will compress without being mounted. If they do then I have to redo the washers I guess and make some spacers. It's just going to take some work and me working 12hr shifts it will take awhile. I'm off Wedsday and Thursday so I hope to have it done by then.

Andy, I am 99% sure you are fighting calipers that are not relaxed. Remove the washers and install the bracket per the instructions. Next, open the master cylinder reservoir. Now use a c-clamp or channel lock pliers with a short piece of 1/8" bar stock across the piston and compress that piston back into the caliper. Do both sides this way, then closed up the master cylinder and you should be able to slide the caliper and pad assembly right onto the rotor.

Gornoman,
The things slide on and off with ease. I did this already and it was fully inserted into the calipor.

Talking Re: New Hydrolic brakes ????

I told you it was something simple.
I have brakes! YeeeeeeeHaaaaaa!

I took the calipor off the bracket and pumped the brake and they closed up good and tight! So then I knew it had to be in the mounting bracket.

Took the wheels off again and rotor and took the bracket off. Took all the washers out and then put 2 bolts back in the bracket to see how it looked. It still was a brake pad thickness away from going on.

So I put the 2 washers on the back side where the calipor mounts and 3 washers on the front side and I have brakes. It is clapping down good now. I can't turn the rotor by hand. I still need to do the passenger side but that can wait until tomorrow night after I'm off.
I want to hear how everyone elses goes on a gas cart. I think you are going to need spacers.
