"Gasser style" front axle
Wondering if anyone has built or seen a cart with an old school gasser-style straight front axle with leaf springs?
All the snow and cold from this winter has me thinking of really weird things to do with the old G1 cart! |

Re: "Gasser style" front axle
Maybe you could modify something off of a large riding mower to work? Maybe with some small trailer leaf springs?

Re: "Gasser style" front axle
the first thing I could think of is the people that put to Suzuki samurai axles underneath. they usually put four links in not leaf springs

Re: "Gasser style" front axle
I still haven't given up on this idea, I'm looking at the ezgo front axle and wondering about width and steering hookups. I could add a small set of thin leaf springs to finish the "gasser" look.
Anyone know if the width would be similiar to an '84 G1, would my rims and tires fit? |

Both "rear steer", I think it would be doable if you made leaf spring mounts on the rearward side.

Re: "Gasser style" front axle
Gaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
Picked up a front axle from an ez-go, but not sure of the year. Should have looked at it closer than I did, when I got home and started to clean it up I found this. Looks like someone already tried to weld it once, can I just clean it up and have it welded again? |
