EzGo TXT - anyone consider rivnuts and bolts instead of rivets?
As I am soon to reinstall the plastic body of my TXT with a rivet kit, I am thinking to myself, why can't something reusable and permanent be used?
In the jeep world, with aftermarket body armor, we are used to rivnuts/nutserts and stainless bolts. Wondering if anyone has used these at the body mounting points to allow the body pieces to be removed easier if ever needed. |

YES you could....seeing as there is steel behind it. all you would have to do would be to drill and tap all the appropriate sized holes and replace all the fasteners with something that will be cosmetically pleasing to the eye....even if it matters.

I couldn't see any reason why it wouldn't be a good idea. I don't really plan on pulling the body off too many times, but I am sure something could come up.
It was just a thought. Not sure if I am going to bother. |
