Default Turn Key Start

I was thinking of wiring my Club Car so you had to turn the key to start it. Then while it was idling you could put it in gear. Is this a bad idea? If not could you point me to a post in this forum, I am not having much luck.

Thanks!

If you don't want to rewire it.There is a way to have pedal start and stop with key and it will idle in gear or in netural. To do this unplug a black wire (ground) inside the black box by the battery This workes on CC only that I know of. Hope this helps

Thanks for the feedback however I am not sure what “crruunnch” is and I sure the heck do not know what “go dog go” is. I am getting the feeling that Turn Key is a bad idea.

Just to be clear I was looking at this as a glorified tractor. So because we are not all using these on a golf course I was wondering if you guys changed the order of operation.

As for gear grinding, the secondary clutch is not spinning at an idle so I don’t know how it would grind.

The bottom line if this is not a normal modification I will not do it.
Sorry for not getting it.
