V-Twin sucking air
I got my cold air intake parts all together today. Now to get it installed on the V-Twin.
2.5" duct hose along with 2" pipe from Lowes with some double S/S clamps with 1 90* elbow and a coupling along with a K&N filter. Going to run the hose back to the bed and drill a 2" hole through it for the pipe with the 90 on it with a small nipple clamp it to the duct then the pipe will go straight up by the roll cage with the K&N filter on it. Pictures to follow soon guy's once I get it installed. |

Re: V-Twin sucking air
I think it will help it. The duct is heat resistant according to the add. It's NASCAR approved for brake duct which has to meet certain requirements for heat generated. Andrea said I was getting it so I could try the mud pit again!

Re: V-Twin sucking air
Doesn't matter if its heat rated or not. It's drawing air in, that's it.

Do you still want the remote oil filter?

The colder the intake air is the more power you make. This is another reason I'm going to wrap the header. Quote:

Re: V-Twin sucking air
As quick as that motor sucks in air, engine compartment heat won't affect it.

Re: V-Twin sucking air
In the cart you are probably right. I going to wrap the headers and keep everything as cool as possible though. Every little bit helps. On my truck motor on the dino it gained almost 8HP when they put the cold air back on it after they had it off for tuning it.

Re: V-Twin sucking air
8hp out of a 300hp engine is only 2.6% gain. On a 23hp golf cart 2.6% is only 0.6 hp. Not a huge gain. I'm sure it's good for the engine. If it's not expensive I say go for it, it can only help.

Re: V-Twin sucking air
The pipe was $8.00 with 4 90* so about $50.00 worth I guess. The flex was $27.00. Plus it will get it up into cleaned air also. It want have all the dust up higher like under the kart.
