CLUB CART Question ID

Don't know anything about Club Carts (very little on EZ go but that's what I have) I saw a nice Club Cart today, batteries were shot but the reverse buzzer sounded when placed in reverse, even when the key was off, is that normal?
How can I determine year and really novice question but I could not find where the controller is located. Cart needs TLC + Batteries + front seat. Overall it looked ok... $1800 asking. F/R shift near legs and it is a 48 volt (6x8volt batteries)
I didn't find a serial number but did see a bar code with some numbers on it. Any comments are appreciated, just didn't want to get into a cart that I know nothing about, still have 3 EZ go's that are being worked on but didn't want to pass up a good deal either.
