Default Do I need a cart if I’m 3.5 miles from my golf course?

Live 3.5 Miles from golf club. The whole way is a golf cart path though. Most people walk, run, bike on it. Not much cart traffic.

Is 3.5 mikes to far away? Should I just drive my car and get the unlimited cart package at country club?

Or if I was to get cart, I’m thinking gas as I’ve already got 7 Miles before I have even golfed round trip.

Anyone think the quirtec Yamaha is any good for gas cart??

Get a gas golf cart. Problem solved.

New quietech is pretty awesome, and really quiet. You can barely tell it's a gas cart.

Do the math. You won't get there much faster in the car and short drives like that are hard on automobiles.

Gas carts are great, but a good 48v electric cart would have no problem with that amount of driving either...

You need to find out if the course will let you use your cart on the course. Mine does but charges almost the same amount as if I used theirs so not worth it. Still probably worth it just for the ease.

Yeah, mine charges only a couple hundred less dollars if you have your own cart. So probably not worth it. But love the idea of jumping on the course late after work and not having to feel guilty for bringing in my cart when its dark outside. I use to work in the pro shop..........so I know how annoying it is to wait on last guy.

So you think an electric cart wouldn't have a problem with that distance?
7 miles round trip to the golf course. Then maybe another 7 miles or so to play. So looking near 15 miles normally. But could see us having dinner up there and playing a couple more holes, so maybe 20 miles at the most before we get home.

Is that pushing the limits of a Electric Cart?

We used a new Quietec Yamaha gas cart today and it was OK. Still noisy and smells exhaust to me though. Im thinking I would like electric better, but don't want to have to stress if the battery will go dead on me. Especially after a couple years and batteries don't work as well.

I think I like Yamaha as it seems roomier and I'm 6'6". I see a lot of members have the electric Yamahas, but I've always thought they were know for gas?

Keep the suggestions/comments coming. I REALLY APPRRECIATE your knowledge

I have a ton of electric Yamaha’s, including, but not limited to, two G29 “Drives” and a G22, but 20 miles on a charge may be pushing it...

If you are going to use it for the trip, and use it for golf, by all means I would get a gas cart. A tank of gas goes a LONG ways in a gas cart. If you are smelling a strong odor of gas there is something wrong with the cart.
