Diesel
Has anyone else in this forum stuffed a Diesel engine in a golf cart? It's taking me forever but I think I've finally found all the pieces I need.

Re: Diesel
My biggest problem is strength. I obtained a 1987 Cushman that was used as a "ball picker" in a driving range. The rear suspension is similar to that of a '93 EZGO only instead of a tube design rear suspension it has a 2"x2" square stock suspension and was set up for coil springs which will be perfect for air-ride. I'm using an intercooler designed for a 2008 John Deere 8800 Terrain cut mower and a Turbo for an '07 JD 1600 WAM series II mower. I took a Kubota 3cyl. Diesel from a Jacobson Turfcat with all the hydraulic valves, pump, and lines for a plow and dump trailer. Next is to make headers for it that go from 3 off the head to a 2.5" collector, to the turbo, then off to dual stacks.
Originally I wanted to put a Cushman 6-speed trans with a 10bolt shaft driven rear but I really want to keep as much "golf cart" as I can while getting an amazing amount of torque... and of course the sound |
