Default elec or gas

Hi guy's.... I had know clue that you could do the stuff like this to a cart I'm getting very pumped to get me one

I will be moving to a lake front neighborhood later this summer and I see most of the people have golf carts to run around the neighborhood

I know I will be getting me one for mostly run around with the family, coolers to the boat and back , and trash bag's to the dumpsters.

I will be doing a small lift , tires & wheels, radio, lights and paint
so I will be looking for a used one

what I need to know is what's a good cart to start with
Club car , E-Z-Go , Yamaha ??
Gas , Elec ?
what yr make and model to look for or stay away from?? and why ??

Thanks

well it all depends on who you ask lol ......... you got chevy vs ford vs dodge thing going on .

start looking at different body styles and see what you like the look of then go from there.

electric or gas (again depends on who ask), well pay at the pump or pay on the electric bill and batt replacement . I would say for what you said your going to do the electric will be fine. used electric carts is pretty much all about battery , how old and stay away from 4-12 volt pack imo

I have been reading for the past 4hrs and looking at some sweet carts

from what I have been reading your right on the ford, chevy thing

I do like the looks of the Club Car Precedent with the poly flares that runs from front to back

I'm thinking in the long run they both will cost about the same. I'm reading that the elec do run a long time on a charge :)
but can work on gas never done elec.

so now I'm thinking it will come down to what I can find in the shape I'm looking for.

if elec 48v with a charger
alum frame

windshield
top
fender flair kit
fold down back seat
good body

I prefer Club Cars myself, but I'm not afraid to tell folks that I own an EZGO that is the best cart I've ever had in terms of being impossible to break.

For your described purposes, a lot of folks like electric carts. A big plus is quietness for "stealth operations" at night.

Whatever you go with, don't worry about not knowing a thing about them, that's why we're here!!!

that's what I have been reading that they all are good buggies in one way or another but the EZ-GO stands out as a work horse

It really depends on whether or not the cart is series drive, which is the drive system you want if torque and being a beast of a working cart is your main concern. Sepex carts are good too, but they generally tend to be the ones guys build for speed. (Don't get me wrong, you can get REAL good speed from a series cart - faster than you want to go with cart steering. )

EDIT: This is provided you get an electric cart, that is.

Id vote Yamaha Gas as I talk to alot of service guys and Ezgo carts are 80% OF thier volume for repairs. Club car is top line , the Yamaha in the mid and Ezgo you will see mostly for simple fact that most courses use them as the initial purchase price and they sell every couple years so longevity is not in their equation.
