Let's give this an update. Broke it out of storage today and discovered something big. The 11 year Trojans are shot! Pack voltage of 40v and dropping down to 25v under load. Mind you, the charger was on this during the winter. It's just that the extreme cold killed their capacity. So I pulled the batteries and checked out the trays

The trays are pretty nice, no holes in them. I think the battery plan will be to get some new batteries for the 03 and put the 08s in here

Here is the temporary storage solution

Shhhh! Everyone listen!

Hear that faint sound Nick? It's your cart, listen:

"Put a 36 volt motor in me."

It's trying to tell you something.

I know everyone here loves updates and pics, so here's an update over a year in the making!

Here we are in the before state -

IMG_1780.jpg

The cart would find itself to be in this state for a while. Here's a little backstory: Back in the fall, I had to pick up a golf cart to work on from one of the local campgrounds, and they needed something in the meantime to use, so I loaned them this. They had been using a 95 DS Gas, and immediately wanted the electric once they used it. So the push was on to get this ready for them. Winter comes and goes, and the cart sits. Back to spring 2016, and camping season is in full swing. So that means it's time to get moving on the 95

Out with the old -

In with the new: Deka 8v batts and new battery cables -

Added a few more things, and subtracted some others, and I ended up with this -

Removed the lettering, pin striping, and diamond plate cargo box. Installed the factory bag hoop and basket setup, as well as the era-correct roof. Also gave it a through cleaning. Did all of this to discover that the OBC decided it wanted to stop working, so I've got a new one coming from David at Revolution. Only thing left now is to install the OBC, and get it sold

It's looking great Nick!

To be honest, I kinda forgot about this cart...

It's cool that you were able to restore this historic 48v to its original glory.

It'll be terrorizing the campground roads very soon
