CC precedent died without warning
While out for a cruise this evening my 48 volt CC precedent stopped working without warning. Last month I installed new, but blemished, Trojan batteries. I use the regular charger and I also use a battery minder 48 volt trickle charger and desulfator. The water levels are all correct. When it died the electrical system worked. The volt meter was on, the back up alarm worked and there was a clicking sound when I pressed the accelerator but it would not move. After about a few minutes of checking everything the volt meter started jumping around showing voltage anywhere from 46 to 52 volts and all numbers in between and then I lost everything, nothing at all is powered. I trailered it home. Does anyone have any idea as to what problem I may have? Could a bad battery be the cause of this problem?

Re: CC precedent died without warning
First, welcome to BGW!
I would start with batteries. Charge them up, then let them sit 12 hours and take a reading. Should be nearly 51 volts. |

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Start with battery cables.

Re: CC precedent died without warning
Everything is tight. I don't know, it doing some weird stuff. I may have to take it in. Nothing works now but the volt meter stated working again showing 51 volts. Even though the headlights are not coming on when I pull the switch the volt meter drops to 32.

Try taking the wire for the voltage reducer off the battery pack. Any wires connected other than those required to charge and operate cart. Something is pulling a large load it seems when you turn the lights on.

Re: CC precedent died without warning
It turned out to be a bad battery. The battery dealer load tested the batteries and found one battery was no good. Square deal battery company replaced it free of charge and I'm back on the road. Thanks for the replies.
