dead club car batts
brought a 48v club car home today and the checked the voltage, .25 - .56 on 5 of them and 3.4 on one. any ideas on trying to save them? i started to charge them but got some smoke out of 2 caps on one battery and thought i'll mess with it later.

Re: dead club car batts
you can try if none have reversed polarity........i would stay there while charging and watch batteries, feel cables and batteries for heat and charger.......keep an eye on ampmeter to see if it will start to drop if so give it a shot...........before doing so clean all terminals and cable ends to give it a good a chance as possible

Re: dead club car batts
if i have time i'm going to try it tomorrow. the battery that is smoking from 2cells i'm sure i'll have to replace, but if i can save the others then i'll be happy. thought about switching it to 4 12v trojans but not sure if i want to spend close to $700 to do it.
