Re: Club Car
Some club cars use half voltage for reverse. What you are experiancing may in fact be normal. The reverse circuit is tapped into the pack halfway through. Most disconnect it from half pack and connect it to full pack...depends on what type of speed control system you have whether or not you can do it without frying something.

Re: Club Car
Thanks for the info since I am not sure what type of speed control system I have I think I best not mess around and screw up something. But it makes perfect sence what you said about being tapped in the system at 18 volts thanks again for the info

Re: Club Car
if you have the 5 solenoid setup and have a bad speed solenoiid or so your reverse is gonna suck causse they run on 1/2 speed to begin with...........if you have the 5 solenoid setup check into yor speeds cause you may end up broke down somewhere other than the driveway.............................

Re: Club Car
If you have a 5 solenoid cart there will be 5 solenoids to the rear of the batteries. All in a row. The one on the driver's side is the master and the rest are progressive speeds...like gears.
If you have a resistor cart you will have large bare wire coils not solenoids and small coils behind the batteries. Either way it is safe to connect the reverse circut to 36 volts. I hate getting stuck in the sand or mud and only having 1/2 power reverse to try and get free! This connection can be made on the bottom of the F&R switch. |

Re: Club Car
Man that really helped I looked and I have the large bank of resistor wires to the rear and down of the batterys so that clears up that point I also located a large blue wire on the F/R switch and traced it to the #3 battery and am thinkin that is the wire to move to the #6 battery I will set and stare at it for a while and then give it a try. I live in Oregon and have PLENTY of mud to play in my property is backed up to thousands of acres of forrest land with hundreds of miles of loggin roads just perfect to go screw around and hunt those Chanterelle Mushrooms best of all it is legal to do it. Thanks again for the help I will let you know how I make out

Re: Club Car
Just want to again thank you for the VERY helpful info I was able to locate the rev. cable and relocate it to battery #4 and it increased the rev power quite a lot I would have went to the Last batt. #6 but the cable was not long enough to reach. Thanks to your advice I was able to locate several cables that were in need of replaceing as the ends were really bad I will just pick up enough cable and end fittings to make them up myself so thanks once again and I hope some time to be able to repay your help by passing on what I have learned to someone
Best Regards, Buzz |

Re: Club Car
buzz, all you did when you relocated that cable is now your running reverse off of like 24 volts instead of 18 volts........they made them 1/2 speed for saftey so if you have young ones driving make sure they are aware so they don,t hurt themselves............and someday yes you,ll be able to help someone else here thats what its all about trying to save each other money and time...........so good luck with it and keep up with the site you,ll learn much..........................................
