Souped up Range
So after I do the 11HP motor upgrade, s/c f/r fat wires, etc, what kind of range can I expect assuming a good battery pack? Just ballpark range?

No offense but I was really hoping for something a bit more helpful that that. Certainly some of you guys have done that kind of upgrade.

Re: Souped up Range
My cart has Pq bandit motor 4 ga cables speed code 5 program. I get about 25+ on level ground. Stock size tires. I can play 36 holes of golf with more than 50% charge left. Does that give you anything to work with.

Re: Souped up Range
Well, you didn't exactly give detailed info either. Hard to estimate with just "11HP motor upgrade, s/c f/r fat wires" as your mods.

Re: Souped up Range
50% charge left indicates max usage and it is time to recharge.

Re: Souped up Range
You should get 8 to 10 miles with good battery pack normal driving. 4 to 6 miles hard driving. Based on information I have learned on this forum. That is my best wag.

Re: Souped up Range
Thanks Mr. Golf, That is great for what I'm intending to do with it and should be plenty. Heck, I even have a 110V jack in the truck so If I take it to hunting, I can always plug up for bit in between things to give it a little bump.
I'm thinking "11HP" motor D & D ES81-25 (That's the 10.5HP peak) , 400amp sc, 200amp sol, #4 wires. What advantages are #2 wires or higher amp speed controller? Do you sacrifice range for marginal power increase with those larger components? Thanks |

Adding larger 2 gauge cables and solenoid are simply no different than having big water pipes in a house in that their size allows them to deliver the FLOW when asked of them. The ability to flow the amperage to your big motor is what gives torque and with torque can come speed when demanded. But when used with reason none of this actually takes any real range from you. |

Re: Souped up Range
How can you give an estimate without knowing what size tire he will run or the terrain? I assure you that he will get very different results if he runs 17.6" stock tires vs 26" atv tires.
