2004 Villager too sloooow

Hello,

Chad Taylor here from Tucson Az. Have done a bunch of searching on the net and this forum seems like my kind of joint!

I have a 2004 Villager I inherited from my work. With the old batteries is was extremely slow and the ended up dying so now I have all brand new batteries and my top speed is 10mph. I put 6 people on it and top speed was around 3mph. Took it to a golf cart shop the batteries were load tested and checked out great but I could tell I didnt get the sharpest pencil in the box. I read where stock it should go 16-17mph. Any

would be Greatly appreciated!

Welcome to BGW!

I am not completely sure what drive system the Villager uses, but if it's IQ, it may be as easy as upgrading the speed code...

Welcome Warlocker. It's always best if you include the serial number of your cart to get more than general suggestions for your problem. Better help will be along shortly. Until then be sure to run those new batteries through the charging cycles to get them up to 100%.

I'll bet it sounded like an electric shopping cart at WalMart with a large person on it. What I'm trying to say is that there are limits.

I have Star Carts at work I put 6 people on all the time and zip around just fine. My unstanding is the Club Cart is a lot higher quality cart. Any idea where I can find the serial number? Thanks guys

What does the Forward Reverse shifter look like? Is it a knob or a rocker switch? If rocker switch, does it have a plug on the bottom?

It's a knob between the drivers and passenger seat in the center

That means you have a series drive system. I would load test your batteries, even new ones can be bad. Past that, it could be a motor issue...
