Default Voltage Reducer Trouble

Hi:

Had a reducer go bad (cheap one) so I installed one from Scotty B Halloween night. It worked great all night.

I went to use the cart yesterday and when I turn the lights on I hear a sizzling sound (not good) and lights won't turn on. I looked at battery pack and the positive terminal where I wired reducer to is arcing/sparking.

I followed the directions and everything worked great Halloween night. The cart hasn't been used since until yesterday.

It is a 2007 DS 48v

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

DO

Mostly a connection arcs when it is loose.

...and always make sure the big cable lug is on the very bottom against the lead battery post, the smaller cable connectors go on top of that one.

Has to be a bad connection there if it's arcing or getting hot.

Asolutely... It can seem tempting to do the opposite by using the big lug as a "washer" but it is a bad gig.... I installed a screw block nearest to each battery post so that all small extra connections go there and not on my batteries.
