Fixed the frozen brake sliders on my stock 93 DS solid state cart with a 97 body. It was locking up on the lightest touch of the pedal - I suspected U bolts but replacing them did nothing. Surprisingly, the shoes looked almost new - the sliders were just really stuck and only the rear shoe was working, hence the almost immediate lockup. Went ahead and fully lubed and adjusted the brakes and now they feel like new!

This is the first appearance this cart has ever made on BGW. It lives full time with my Grandpa at his house so I can keep his gasser at my place when it isn't at camp, and he has use of the same cart at home year round. The pic does it no justice because it's muddy. When it is clean this cart SHINES. Nicest cart I own next to my yellow cart.

Thanks Jake, it really is clean for the age. Belonged to a country club with all paved paths and always was kept indoors.

Eaglesdad, nice seat covers!

1992 Club Car DS - Tore it down.Planning on a new body front/rear, jakes 6" spindle lift kit, 12" chrome wheels and all terrain tires, carbon fiber dash, carbon fiber steering wheel, clean it all up and make it look like new. My 22 yr old daughter went to Alaska for 5 months so i figured i'd restore her old cart she got for her 14th birthday. I'm new here, give me 7 days and i'll start a restore thread of its own with pics. I hope she appreciates this as its going to cost me a small fortune i'm sure

I was going to paint my old '97 CC DS but went ahead and ordered a new body on-line instead. Figure I can wax and buff the new body and put some trim art on it and it will be good to go. No need to fill and sand the old holy body and attempt a bad paint job on it. They charge just as much to paint a cart down here as the new body is costing me anyway. And I got free shipping too. Always makes you feel like you got a good deal, when you get free shipping The wife examined the monthly budget real close before giving me the thumbs up to purchase. She said "Happy Father's Day."

I do want to paint the roof and seat back supports though. I believe someone on here suggested using "vinegar" on the metal first, before painting?

I guess I will no longer be able to get away with calling my DS "rat cart."
